Hidden among the kopjes and surrounded by ancient baobab trees, lies Tarangire Sopa Lodge. Tarangire can be found south west of Arusha, approximately two hours drive from the town or 20 minute light aircraft flight. The national park is home to the greatest concentration of elephants in Africa, and other game including the elusive leopard. Over 400 bird species can be spotted here as well. With water constantly available in the area, the greenery is lush providing a wonderful contrast to the burnt ground.
Facilities at Tarangire Sopa Lodge:
The restaurant at the lodge offers an outside seating area where guests can enjoy international and traditional African cuisine. Barbecues and themed evenings are also on offer to provide a variety of dining experiences during your stay. For a truly authentic African safari experience why not arrange a bush dinner. The Sopa Serengeti Safari
Mara Intrepids Camp and The Mombasa Serena Beach Hotel Travelled with Luxury Safaris and their partner in Kenya Somak and had the most wonderful holiday. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is thought of from stepping off the plane ( the local rep even gets you your boarding cards !) to the service in the hotels. A fabulous find as a travel company.
Travelled on the Masai with Southern Palms Just wanted to say how much the four of us enjoyed our safari and beach holiday. It proved far better than our expectations in many ways. We saw many animals at close quarters, including lions and cheetahs. Only the leopard evaded us! We even saw the start of the wildebeest migration, much earlier than usual! The camps were great especially the substituted Ashnil, which was tented and magical. The hotair balloon was wonderful - expensive but worth every penny as from it we viewed thousands upon thousands of wildebeests making their way in single file from group to massive group. What a spectacle! Not so obvious from the ground. The Southern Palms Beach Resort, a very good hotel to choose, was very welcome after a week of early starts and bumpy rides. The staff were wonderful and we were able to completely relax, in spite of a little heavy rain. Certainly we were right to go All Inclusive there. It was the trip of a lifetime for the four of us and one we shall look back on with great pleasure for many years. Thank you so much for your very useful advice and for organising the trip for us Sorry I haven't written this before but we are moving house in 6 days time so we've been rather busy since our return on the 6th! Have a good summer yourself
