The Selous Safari Camp is in a prime position at the the centre of the Selous Game Reserve in Southern Tanzania. Within an open palm forest on the shores of Lake Nzerakera which adjoins the Great Rufiji River the camps fits in magnificently with the natural surroundings. There are no fences in place at this camp allowing the wildlife to roam freely through the camp which has a fantastic location at the centre of this lake complex and riverine with the highest concentration of African wildlife and myriad birdlife.
Accommodation at the Selous Safari Camp:
The 13 tents at the Selous Safari Camp are split between two camps; the north which has six tents and the south which has seven. All of the tents are open plan with a canvas sheet that can be used to separate the bathroom beyond which you have an open air shower. Set on raised platforms with thatched roofs and views of the river the tents are spacious and all have a king size bed below a ceiling fan, a private veranda with sofa on which you can relax, a safe and a second veranda at the rear of each tent.
Facilities at the Selous Safari Camp:
Each camp has its own swimming pool to relax between game drives, at the north camp this is surrounded by a decked area where dining usually takes place. With large squishy sofas the tastefully decorated communal bar and lounge area gives you the ideal place to relax while watching the birdlife that visits this area and taking in the view there is also a small bar in one corner. The south camp is similar in design with a selection of Wooden furniture and African art. The whole of the main are at this camp is raised on stilts, dinner is served in a different area each to inject variety into your stay. There is also a separate dining are and a small shop selling curios. guests staying at the north camp can request to be taken to the south camp if they wish to use the shop. Each camp has its own kitchen where the chefs will prepare the finest cuisine for each meal.
