The Kirawira Tented Camp is a member of the 'Small Luxury Hotels of the World' and has the perfect setting in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park, the ideal location to see the annual wildebeest migration. Standing high on a tree-clad hill the camp overlooks the endless plains below, the famous Grumeti River and in the distance beyond you can see Speke's Bay which is a part of Lake Victoria.
Accommodation at the Kirawira Tented Camp:
There are 25 luxury tents at the Kirawira Camp, 5 King Size and 20 Twin. All of the spacious tents are on raised wooden platforms, are covered with a thatch roof and have a spacious deck which is comfortably furnished and has views of the savannah. The tents are decorated in an Edwardian style and furnished with Four Poster beds covered with bright, hand-made patchwork quilts and mosquito nets, persian rugs, antique furniture and carved rocking chairs. The magnificent en-suite bathrooms have carved mahogany furniture, a classic tiled floor in black and white, twin marble basins, shower and WC. Each tent has a personal valet.
Facilities at the Kirawira Tented Camp:
The dining area at the Kirawira Camp comprises of two elegant tents draped in khaki and canvas giving you the chance to experience the African ambience into the evening. The dining tents are furnished in an Edwardian style with sprung floors and delicate blue and white china. Breakfast is served buffet style while lunch and dinner are both 5 courses comprising of soups, classic salads, lavish roasts, fresh brewed coffee, home made sorbets and local cheeses. You can choose to compliment your meal by choosing from the extensive wine list. After dinner take the opportunity to relax with a sundowner on the covered terrace of the main lounge or by the blazing campfire. Bush dinners can also be arranged for which there are dedicated sites with tables, chairs, a bush bar and bush kitchen. Between game drives you will have the use of the camps swimming pool or take time to relax and enjoy a beauty treatment or massage.
