Named after Elsa the lioness and made famous by George and Joy Adamson's book and film "Born Free". Elsa's Kopje is also the winner of the Good Safari Guide's 'Best Safari Property in Africa' award, this luxury property is renowned for being one of the most elegant in East Africa. 

With the most spectacular settingings, it has one of the best locations in Kenya to view rhino in their natural habitat. Almost invisible to the eye as you approach its home on Mughwango Hill. It blends into the rocky crags of the "kopje" (small hill), built above the site of George Adamson's original campsite.

Renowned for its delicious cuisine, here you will find everything from sumptuous Mediterranean dishes to traditional East African dishes and delicacies. Fresh herbs and salad is grown in their own garden and handmade fresh bread baked daily in the camp's own traditional outdoor pizza oven. You will certainly be spoiled for choice. Dinner is served outside, with candlelit tables laid out under the stars. The exceptionally inviting infinity pool offers panoramic views of the plains of Meeru National Park, the perfect place to enjoy the hot African sun and discuss the days exciting game viewing. There is also a gift shop on site and massages and other treatments are also available for a supplement. Day and Night Game drives are available as are walking safaris with a local guide.

Accommodation at Elsa's Kopje:
Shaped into the Mughwango rock, each of the 10 individually built open front cottages are luxuriously appointed, where you will find the ultimate 'room with a view'. The open-plan cottages boast en suite bathrooms and a furnished deck offering views of the reserve. Some of the cottages have an outdoor bath and a sitting room rather than a deck.
