The Cheetah Safari Itinerary
The 7 night Cheetah Safari is the newest additional to our safari portfolio. Designed by combining our years of experience and our clients feedback and recommendations, the itinerary follows the 'classic' safari route and offers a unique combination of luxury tented camps and lodge accommodation. The only of of its kind on the market, this really is the the perfect introduction to the splendours of Kenya and the varied accommodation that is on offer.
This itinerary starts in the Aberdares Range at the Outspan Hotel, offering stunning views over the mountains of both Aberdares and Mount Kenya, the stunning tropical gardens with their giant cacti is the perfect place to unwind after the long flight.
Samburu in the North of Kenya is home to the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo), here you will also find the rarer species such as the Grevy's Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe and Blue Legged Somali Ostrich, species rarely seen elsewhere in East Africa. Dotted along the banks of the hippo and crocodile filled Ewaso Nyiro River you will find The Ashnil Samburu Camp, where the luxury tents offer stunning views over the plains and the river which runs through the heart of the reserve. Home to 'The Secret Lives of Elephants' Samburu is paradise for those searching for a variety of game in stunning surroundings.
Next stop is Mount Kenya; renowned for its incredible bird life and plains game, here you will spend the night at Serena Mountain Lodge; the only tree hotel ever to be built on the slopes of this legendary mountains. Offering stunning views from the many viewing platforms which overlook watering holes, here you will have the opportunity to join a guided nature walk (weather permitting).
Lake Nakuru is situated in the Great Rift Valley, known for its fantastic bird life. It is hear where you can expect to see a pink mist over the lake - a breathtaking display of pink flamingos sitting on the water. Nakuru also boasts the highest population of Rhino's in East Africa, along with other plains game such as the Zebra, Gazelle, Buffalo, Giraffe's and Elephant's to name a few.
Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake, where there is plenty for all the family to do. Not only can you go horse-riding or cycling, but you can also arrange guided bird spotting walks and boat trips on the lake. The main attraction here is some of the 450 species of birds which have been recorded in and around this Hippo filled lake.
Finally, this safari finishes with two nights the magnificent Masai Mara, famed for its vast numbers of plains game, the spectacular big cats and the annual Great Migration. Here you stay in the newest addition to the Masai Mara, the luxury Ashnil Mara Camp, boasting luxury tents which are dotted along the banks of the Hippo filled Mara River.
Day 1 Friday or Sunday Heathrow – NairobiFly from Heathrow overnight to Nairobi.
Day 2 Saturday or Monday AberdaresOn arrival transfer to the Somak Safari Lounge, where you can freshen up and store any additional luggage before departing for Aberdares and to the Outspan Hotel. After lunch, there is opportunity to relax or enjoy an afternoon nature walk with the resident naturalist (weather permitting). Dinner.

Day 3 Sunday or Tuesday SamburuDrive north across the equator to the Samburu National Reserve and check in to your lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive.
Overnight: Ashnil Samburu CampDay 4 Monday or Wednesday SamburuMorning and late afternoon game drives in this open savannah which is traversed by the Ewaso Nyiro River. The river is populated by hippos and crocodiles, whilst the park is home to a host of animals including several species which are rarely seen in numbers elsewhere including Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffes and long-necked gerenuks.
Overnight: Ashnil Samburu CampDay 5 Tuesday or Thursday AberdaresDrive to the slopes of Mount Kenya and check in to Mountain Lodge where lunch has been arranged. Spend the afternoon viewing game from the lodge or join a nature walk (weather permitting) led by a local guide.
Overnight: Serena Mountain LodgeDay 6 Wednesday or Friday Lake Nakuru / NaivashaAfter breakfast, descend into the Great Rift Valley and continue on to Lake Nakuru for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Continue to Lake Naivasha.
Overnight: Naivasha Sopa LodgeDay 7 Thursday or Saturday Masai MaraDrive to the Masai Mara National Reserve. An afternoon game drive.
Overnight: Ashnil Mara CampDay 8 Friday or Sunday Masai MaraEnjoy an early morning
Balloon Flight over the Masai Mara, followed by a 'bubbly' bush breakfast
(optional extra), or an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Afternoon lunch at leisure and time to relax by the pool. Afternoon game drive.
Overnight: Ashnil Mara CampDay 9 Saturday or Monday Extension or HeathrowAfter breakfast, return to Nairobi, proceed with your chosen beach extension or return to Heathrow.
