Start your tour with a 3 night stay in Cape Town; one of the World’s greatest tourist cities. The irrepressible sights and sounds of Cape Town are sure to capture your imagination, from the landmark beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay to the vibrant V&A Waterfront and Cape Town city centre. After Cape Town it is time to take in the awesome natural beauty of South Africa’s Garden Route. You will journey across spectacular mountain passes and along the pristine coastline, boasting some of South Africa’s top coastal and golfing resorts. Our magnificent Garden Route tour will take you through Hermanus which is home to the best shore based whale watching anywhere in the world, through Oudtshoorn with its vast limestone caves and Ostrich farm before going onto Knysna’s charming waterfront and nature reserve. Finally you will finish up in Port Elizabeth where you can relax for a night before heading onto your Eastern Cape safari.
One of the main attractions of the Eastern Cape is the opportunity to visit a wildlife reserve and see the Big 5 in a malaria-free environment. The lodges all offer a fully inclusive safari experience including accommodation, all meals and 2 safari activities or guided game drives per day in 4x4 vehicles.

Day 1
Fly Heathrow – Cape Town overnight
Day 2, 3, 4: Cape Town 3 nights at leisure
Situated at the base of Table Mountain, it is the capital city of the Western Cape. Combining history, natural beauty and a cosmopolitan lifestyle, the 'Mother City' has it all. For natural surroundings there are gardens, beaches and vineyards all close by. Visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with a wide variety of shops, restaurants and craft markets.

Day 5: Cape Town to Hermanus
Pick up your car hire and travel 1 ½ hrs to Hermanus. Hermanus is the hub of the famous whale route. A sea side town offering fantastic restuarants, shops and beaches.
Overnight: Auberge Burgundy Hermanus
Day 6: Hermanus to Oudtshoorn
Travel 1 ¼ hrs to Oudtshoorn. Oudtshoorn is famous for the Cango limestone caves and renowned as the ostrich capital of the world.
Overnight: Queen's Hotel or Rosenhof Country House

Day 7 and 8: Oudtshoorn to Knysna
Travel 1 ½ hrs to Knysna. Knysna is at the heart of the Garden Route, nestled on the banks of a stunning estuary, it is surrounded by forests, lakes and beaches. The town offers craft shops, flea markets and a waterfront with restaurants renowned for their oysters.
Overnight: Protea Knysna Quays or Belvidere Manor Hotel

Day 9: Knysna - Port Elizabeth
Travel 2 hrs to Port Elizabeth. Port Elizabeth is South Africa’s second oldest city and the birth place of Nelson Mandela, it is also the starting point for a safari in the Eastern Cape.

Day 10, 11, 12, 13: Port Elizabeth to Eastern Cape
Drop your car hire at the airport transfer by road the Eastern Cape game reserve for four nights.
Accommodation Options: Kariega Game Reserve, Pumba Private Game Reserve or Shamwari Game Reserve.
Day 14
Transfer back to Port Elizabeth airport for your flight home.

Travelled on The Great Migration African Safari I would just like to thank you for the wonderful safari holiday you put together for us at short notice. Everything went like clockwork, people were always there to meet us and the service was excellent. Every day on the holiday was a red letter day. All the lodges and tented camps were superb. The quality of the 2 drivers we had Vincent and Zadoch were unbelievable. They had local knowledge, were very helpful and courteous.
